"Nine Lives" is a 1969 science fiction novelette by Ursula K. Le Guin. Originally published in Playboy magazine, it was reprinted in The Wind's Twelve Quarters, the story is about what human cloning does to one's perception of the self, and among other things explores bisexual bonding between clones.
It was nominated to the Nebula Award for Best Novelette in 1969.[1]
